Job description

About Morpho

Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol that recently secured $50 million in funding from Ribbit Capital, a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Variant, Brevan Howard, Pantera, Blocktower, and 50 others to support its mission of revolutionizing lending with an open, efficient, and resilient platform. Morpho is experiencing explosive growth, with over $7 billion in assets supplied on the protocol, solidifying itself as the new standard for DeFi lending. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as a cornerstone, not just of DeFi, but of a new internet-native financial system.

Location

Paris or remote (from +2h GMT up to - 5h GMT to ensure sufficient overlap with the rest of the team).

We seek a DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure & API team, a core pillar of Morpho's engineering organization. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining our infrastructure that serves a data management platform and a web API across our products and public-facing API. We need someone who can manage production infrastructure, write infrastructure as code, work with containerization and observability: monitoring, alerting, APMs, and logs. You'll design infrastructure that is able to handle high load and SLAs, and that can scale to accommodate emerging needs for the products Morpho continuously develops. You'll report directly to the Infrastructure Manager and work closely with engineering teams to ensure our infrastructure meets both internal analytical needs and external, public-facing requirements.

Mission & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop infrastructural changes. Morpho’s business is highly dependent on infrastructure availability, and you see the importance and value you bring to this critical environment. You bring a long-term vision to infrastructure through successive iterations.

  • Monitor infrastructure availability, security, and costs.

  • Collaborate with the engineering teams to define their infrastructural needs and suggest improvements.

  • Anticipate and analyze security issues by managing secrets, ACLs, WAFs, and potential attacks on the infrastructure.

  • Becoming a key thought partner for your domain, fully supporting the business's and teams’ end-to-end needs, and measurably improving key metrics like uptime, developer satisfaction, and reliability.

Job requirements

Must-have Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud solutions such as AWS, ideally certified, and can work with IaC solutions such as Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD.

  • Experience around Kubernetes and containerization (Docker), integrating cost-effective solutions to deploy infrastructure that is able to scale and to be resilient.

  • Track record in Database administration around scaling and optimization to ensure we’re able to serve data as quickly as possible, while managing its costs, ideally using PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with infrastructure management under strong SLA expectations.

  • Embraced the principles of observability and are familiar with our stack: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, and APMs.

  • Proven track of helping engineering teams in analyzing application impacts on infrastructure, providing them with the correct amount of information, and anticipating emerging issues on the infrastructure.

  • Experience working in fintech, Web3, or regulated environments is a substantial bonus.

  • Low ego
