Mission & Responsibilities
As Security Lead, you will own all things security, from ops to education, and become the go-to person for prevention, detection, and response, including:
Build and implement secure systems/processes to prevent, detect, and respond to threats.
Handle incident response (internal + external coordination)
Manage access control and log monitoring: SSO, VPN, Notion, Slack, Github, cloud services, etc.
Oversee physical security of employees (founders, execs, offices, conferences)
Oversee data protection (e.g. deletion, encryption policies)
Monitor phishing/news/security alerts and maintain internal education on security
Define security processes for our partners and provide support on security communications
Job requirements
Must-have Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience in a similar Security Ops role
Experience in a tech startup environment
Comfortable with both strategic and hands-on work
Familiar with common tools (Google Workspace, SSO, GH, etc.)
Security incident response track record
Ability to understand and evaluate the business impact of security decisions, balancing protection with operational agility and lean processes
Clear communicator
Low ego
